Scotland’s first minster to hold media conference at 11 a.m. amid reports she is standing down.


Nicola Sturgeon is set to resign as Scotland’s first minister, according to multiple media reports.

The SNP leader — who has led her pro-independence party and Scotland’s devolved government since 2014 — is expected to announce she is standing down at an 11 a.m. press conference from Bute House, Edinburgh.

The news was first reported by the BBC and Press Association. An SNP official confirmed to POLITICO that the expectation in party headquarters is now that Sturgeon is resigning.
