This 3-minute experience provides a glimpse into the challenges faced by the hostages held captive by Hamas and other terrorist groups for over 4 months.

A replica of a Hamas tunnel will be installed on Thursday in front of the European Parliament in Brussels. The exhibit was first presented last week at the United Nations in Geneva before coming to the Belgian capital.

This immersive installation, housed within a container unveils a narrow tunnel leading to poignant before-and-after images of the hostages projected on the wall.

This 3-minute experience provides a glimpse into the challenges faced by the hostages held captive by Hamas and other terrorist groups for over 4 months.

The container will be open for visitors between 10:00 and 15:30 at Place de Luxembourg.

Last week, diplomats and curious onlookers on the Place des Nations in Geneva, in front of the UN building, were able for a few minutes to put themselves in the shoes of a hostage in the container. On the floor, a mattress was strewn with the blood-stained clothes of children. A light then reflects portraits of hostages still being held. On Monday, the families of around ten women still being held were also present.

According to swissinfo news website, the experience only lasted three minutes, but it shocked a number of ambassadors and aid workers, who entered the six-by-two-and-a-half-metre site.

The Geneva citizens’ group that planned the event held talks with the association of relatives of hostages in Israel to make it as “authentic as possible”.

The faces of 136 women, men and babies still being held hostage in Gaza were plastered on one side of the container’s exterior. On the other, it says “bring them home now” in large black and red letters.

A large mockup of a Hamas tunnel was also created at Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square by the families to raise awareness for their loved ones’ plight.
