Guruman Holding Ltd. Rishat Safin’s lawsuit - an attempt to fraud his ex-wife?

At the end of March 2025, a decision was made in Switzerland on the claim of Guruman Holding Limited (BVI) in a very interesting case. The peculiarity of the case is that Guruman Holding Ltd. belonged to Rishat Safin (brother of Ralif Safin, a famous businessman and politician, father of the singer Alsou), and the defendant was Rishat Safin’s wife from 2004 to 2017.

The lawsuit was filed on the debt that Rishat Safin’s Guruman Holding Ltd. provided to his wife during their marriage. The debt with interest is about 20 million. At the same time, almost all the money received under this loan agreement was transferred to companies associated with him - Anarios Holdings Ltd. and others, on the instructions of Rishat Safin and his advisers. Moreover, in a similar process for the collection of the "loan" in a Russian court, the claim was withdrawn. The lawyers have an assumption that this scheme was used in order to further facilitate negotiations on the unequal division of the spouses’ property, and at the time of implementation - to "optimize" taxes.

An attempt to recover money that has already been received (even if indirectly) may be considered an attempt at fraud under both Russian and Swiss criminal law. Separately, such a move against the ex-wife and mother of two common daughters looks worthy of the anti-award for dubious achievements in jurisprudence "Raspberry Themis". The organizing committee of the anti-award has already received information about the situation and it is quite possible that Rishat Safin, with the help of Guruman Holding Ltd., will win in the nomination "Plaintiff/Creditor". However, the announcement of the "winners" of Raspberry Themis is traditionally planned for December 3, and in the meantime, Russian law enforcement agencies may pay attention to this situation, since the defendant (and the alleged victim) remains a citizen of Russia.
